Pharmacist - obtaining a European Professional Card

Do you want to go to another EU country to work as a pharmacist there? You don't know what documents to submit and who is supposed to process your application? To work in this profession abroad, you need a European Professional Card. This is an electronic procedure that you can use to have your professional qualifications recognised in another country. You will get your card easily and without unnecessary formalities, and you can arrange everything online. In addition, you fill in the documents in Polish, so don't be afraid to misunderstand something. Check below to see how you can do this.

How to proceed

This procedure can be completed:

  • electronically

Log in to the EU Login system. If you do not have an account yet, please submit it and complete the application form.

What you should know and who can use this service

The European Professional Card confirms that your professional qualifications have been recognised by the country in which you want to work (the host country). If you only want to travel to another EU country for a short period of time, your card shows that you meet the conditions and can temporarily (occasionally) provide services in that country.

The card replaces the recognition of qualifications and the provision of cross-border services. In addition, it is valid in the country you are planning to travel to or within a specific region of the country.

You can apply for a European Professional Card if:

  • you want to work temporarily and occasionally in another EU country,
  • you want to move to another EU country and work permanently.

If you have qualifications from outside the European Union, apply for a European Professional Card when:

  • your qualifications have already been recognised in an EU country,
  • you have at least three years' experience of practising your profession. The period of 3 years starts from the date of recognition of your qualifications.

To apply, open an account in the European Commission Authentication System (EU Login). How to get a card for other countries

If you have a card and want to receive another one, valid in another country, you can reuse the documents already submitted. The authority will use the information contained in the European Professional Card and the documents stored in the repository (as long as they are still valid) when you recognise qualifications or temporarily provide services in another EU Member State.

Who can check the validity of your card

Employers, professional organisations or other interested parties can check the validity of your ID card online on the basis of its reference number. They will need your identity card or passport number, which you provided when you submitted your application.
