Entry in the list of patent agents

The right to practice as a patent agent arises after taking the oath at the date of entry in the list of patent agents.

An entry in the list of patent agents is made ​​at the request of the person concerned. There is no specimen of the application. The application should be addressed to the Patent Office.

An application for entry in the list of patent agents should be submitted within six months upon the date of passing the qualifying examination.

The list of patent agents is kept the Patent Office in the form of a register book.

A patent agent entered in the list of patent agents receives a card issued by the Patent Office, confirming the right to practise in the profession and to use the title of "patent agent”.The President of the Patent Office issues a decision to refuse entry in the list of patent agents in the case where:
1) the application is submitted after the deadline referred to above;
2) the following circumstances occur in respect of the applicant:
•              the person is employed in the Patent Office, the administrative court, the European Patent Office or the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market;
•              the person holds the office of a judge, public prosecutor, or assistant public prosecutor, practise as a notary, assistant notary or bailiff, or is in the course of general legal training or training to practise in the profession of a judge, public prosecutor, notary or bailiff, or is employed in the judicial authorities or law enforcement authorities.
Such person may re-apply for entry with six month after the circumstances in question cease to exist.
