Transportation of corpses and human remains

Transportation of corpses and remains should be carried out under conditions ensuring adequate sanitary and technical safety of the carriage.

A motor vehicle designed to carry corpses and human remains should meet the following technical and sanitary requirements:

1) be permanently marked in a manner indicating its use;

2) have a driver's cab isolated from the section dedicated to the placement of the corpse or human remains;

3) be protected against the slipping of the coffin or container with the corpse or human remains during transportation;

 4) have the floor in the space where the coffin or container or the corpse or human remains are carried, upholstered with materials which are easily washable and resistant to disinfectants;

5) a separate place for storing disinfectants, washing and cleaning equipment and disposable gloves.

After each carriage of a corpse or human remains, the space for their placement in the vehicle must be disinfected. Bactericidal, virucidal and fungicidal formulas are used for the disinfection. The outside of the means of road transport designed for the carriage of corpses and human remains cannot be washed in random and provisionally organized car washes.

Transportation of remains resulting from the incineration of corpses, placed in an airtight container resistant to damage can be conducted by any means of transport in a manner which ensures respect.
