Registration of business activities in the field of production, storage, packaging and marketing of agri-food

Commercial quality are features of an the agri-food article relating to its organoleptic, physico-chemical and microbiological properties in terms of production technology, size or weight, and the requirements arising from the method of production, packaging, presentation and labelling.

Undertaking a business in the field of production, storage, packaging and marketing of agri-food products including raw or processed fruits and vegetables should be registered with the Voivodship Agricultural and Food Quality Inspector (WIJHARS) competent for the place of residence or registered office of the applicant.

The above does not apply to:

1) farmers, within the meaning of regulations on the social insurance of farmers, in relation to the operated farming activity and entrepreneurs producing wine from grapes obtained from the cultivation of vineyards located in the territory of the Republic of Poland;

2) undertaking business activity in the field of retail marketing of agri-food articles;

3) agri-food articles manufactured for personal use.

Registration should be done no later than on the day of launching the business activity. The submission must be made in writing and should include:

1) name and surname and address or company name and the seat of the submitter;

2) the number in the register of entrepreneurs of the National Court Register (KRS) or the Central Register and Information on Business (CEIDG);

3) indication of the scope of business activity, including information on export operations;

4) indication of the place of manufacturing, storage and packaging of the agri-food products.
